Snowmobiling
Snowmobiling is possible all year. Main locations are at Langjokull glacier and also at Sólheimajökull and more locations.
Snorkelling in Silfra
Snorkelling in the crystal clear and cold water in Silfra fizzure at Þingvellir is like nothing else. Visibility is almost endless. Said to be one of the top 10 dive sites in the world.
ATV's
ATV rentals are in Reykjavik and many other places. This is an exciting choice for a great activity.
Whale watching
Whale watching from Reykjavik, Akureyri, Husavik, Stykkisholmur and more places. See various whales in their natural habitat. Usually tours are about 3 hours
Horseback riding
The Icelandic horse is small but very strong. This is the original breed that the Vikings brought to Iceland. There are several options of renting horses and the tours are from 1 - 3 hours long.
Rafting tours
Arctic Rafting offer adventure rafting trips exploring the beautiful glacial river HvÃtá, the White River, it’s full of thrills and spills. Let’s get wet and enjoy the amazing scenery that can only be explored from a boat.
Helicopters
Flying over the 2021 volcanic eruption site or over Þingvellir National Park is great fun. There are other flight options to choose from but this is an unforgettable experience.
Lava Caves
Going below the surface and exploring lava caves is a great experience. You will be surprised with the variety of colours.9
Ice Caves
There is a variety of ice caves in Iceland and most of them are in the Vatnajokull region. There also is a cave in the eastern part of Langjokull and then there is a man made cave on the western part.
Super Jeep Tours
The Super Jeeps are modified 4x4 cars with 38"- 49" tires and they can drive on the snow on the glaciers and during winter.Â
A perfect way of travelling and combining for example with a snowmobile trip. The drivers are very experienced in handling these powerful machines.
Glacier lagoon sailing
Sailing on the glacier lagoon in front of Breidamerkurjokull is a great way of witnessing the raw power of nature. Often there are seals in the lagoon and the diamond beach is only a few minutes walk from the parking lot.
Northern Lights
The Nothern Lights are a natural phenomenon. They usually are visible in the period from late August until around mid April. If overcast skies then they can not be seen but on a good evening the seeing the northern lights is something you will not forget.
